II INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON COMPUTER SCIENCE AND INFORMATICS

The Department of IT Engineering and Computer Science, Engineering Faculty at University of Atacama, has received the testimony to organize the second version of the International Congress on Computer Science and Informatics in northern Chile, INFONOR-CHILE 2011. This event will be held on August from 17 to 19 in Copiapó city, Atacama Region, Chile, and national and foreign specialists of the most diverse areas related to the Computer science will participate through the presentation of scientific articles and applications to the industry.

The first version was made ​​in the city of Antofagasta between 15 and 19 November 2010. The organization was conducted by the Universidad Catolica del Norte and was held in conjunction with the Chilean Computing Week.

This event has its origin in the Symposium on Computer Applications and Information INFONOR, carried out on 11 occasions between 1979 and 1998. It was characterized as an international meeting point between IT professionals with the participation of scholars from around the country, professionals from major companies in the north and many international guests and exhibitors.

In this revival are uniting a group of universities belonging to the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH) located in northern Chile: Universidad de Tarapacá (Arica), Universidad Arturo Prat (Iquique), Universidad Católica del Norte y Universidad de Antofagasta (Antofagasta), Universidad de Atacama (Copiapó) y Universidad de La Serena (La Serena).
